Custom Grade

  • ✦ Custom Grade Alder offers a consistent and uniform color throughout. Sometimes compared to Cherry, Alder is a softer wood species that takes stain well.
  • ✦ The sapwood of this tight-grain species is utilized for the face of all panels, frames, plywood and solid inserts.
  • ✦ Color range of the Alder sapwood ranges from light honey, light tan to reddish-brown blended for a pleasing match. The reddish-brown of the heartwood is allowed in the machined areas, minimally on the face and anywhere on the backs of all products.
  • ✦ Occasional mineral streaks, pin knots and small burls are allowed on the face.

Note: Over time, Alder will darken with age.
